Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) holds that one of the sterling fundamentals of a good company is a social conscience embedded in all of its corporate activities. Therefore, the company strives to serve society with a conscience and a heart. Not only does it endeavor to improve people’s lives through the products it manufactures, it also extends support to a variety of outreach programs. Aside from its donations to charitable institutions and calamity victims, PMPC has established several scholarship programs for bright but economically disadvantaged students. It also assists in the campaign for the protection and preservation of the environment, as well as many other programs that benefit various sectors of society. All PMPC employees, moreover, are occasionally reminded that, apart from their job responsibilities, they must help the company fulfill its corporate mission to contribute to society.
Panasonic Scholarship Program for graduate study (Japan)

Adopted in the Philippines since 2000, Panasonic Scholarship Program for graduate study in Japan is aimed at providing opportunities to promising future leaders to do further study in graduate schools, thus enabling them to contribute something to the development of the country while promoting friendship between the Philippines and Japan. To date, there are 20 alumni, 9 current scholars in Japan who have benefited from this scholarship program. The students nominated this year will leave for Japan in March 2010.

PMPC developed and converted a vacant area into a mini park at Taytay National High School, Taytay, Rizal. The project includes the construction of a gazebo, pond, and benches under a mahogany tree. The effort is aimed to provide students with a place where they can hold ou tdoor meetings, group discussions, and study or simply take rest at the same time appreciate the beauty of nature. PMPC hopes that the construction of the said mini park could at least encourage students to become aware of the importance of environmental protection and preservation.
Munting Handog Laking Tuwa Ang Dulot Project

The “Munting Handog, Laking Tuwa ang Dulot” (Lit. A Modest Gift, Brings Great Joy) project is truly a unique activity as it promotes not only volunteerism among employees but also the spirit of the ancestral trait of “bayanihan.” "Bayanihan" is a Filipino word from the word "bayan" meaning town, nation, or community in general, and is thus used to refer to a spirit of communal unity and cooperation.
Panasonic Scholarship Program for Philippine colleges & universities

The Panasonic Scholarship program for Philippine colleges and universities is a continuing activity to provide promising students - selected from all over the country - the opportunity to complete college degrees and become dynamic assets in their respective communities. Last year, four students graduated with honors and distinctions: Mr. J. Marc G. Lopez completed his BS Biology from the University of the Philippines-Baguio; Miss Rhea G. Abisado, who took up BS Biology, graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños; Miss Zyra May B. Homes, who took up BS Agriculture, graduated cum laude from Leyte State University; and Miss Althea G. Trespeces completed her BS Biology from the University of the Philippines-Visayas.
Panasonic “Thinknology” Writing Contest

Thirty-four grade school pupils all over the country competed in the grand finals of the Panasonic – Department of Education Thinknology On-the-spot Idea Writing contest on January 30, 2004. The contest, a project of Panasonic in coordination with the Department of Education, demonstrated the talents and skills of the school children in creative writing. The children also learned to appreciate environment-friendly technologies, which foster economic growth and global competitiveness. The grand finalists were adjudged from the entries of the semi-final round winners. In the grand finals, the contestants, grouped into two categories: Category A (Grades 1 to 3) and Category B (Grades 4 to 6) were asked again “on-the-spot” to write on a new topic, “If you were to invent, what would it be? And why?”.
Panasonic Battery School Fair

The very first Panasonic Battery School Fair was held in November 2007 at Taytay Elementary School in Rizal. It is aimed at teaching grade school children about the construction of battery and how to make their own original, handmade batteries. Staff from PMPC factory guided the school children in making batteries, and from time to time they were given trivia questions related to battery and some useful tips and topics about the environment. The school children were truly delighted to see their handmade batteries light a bulb, and learn about the importance of environmental protection.
Panasonic Scholarship Program for graduate study (Japan)

Adopted in the Philippines since 2000, Panasonic Scholarship Program for graduate study in Japan is aimed at providing opportunities to promising future leaders to do further study in graduate schools, thus enabling them to contribute something to the development of the country while promoting friendship between the Philippines and Japan. To date, there are 34 individuals who have benefited from this scholarship: 25 alumni; 7 current scholars in Japan; and 2 nominated scholars, who will leave for Japan in March 2011.
